ATHL 509 Seminar in Legal and Ethical Issues in Athletics - This course addresses common ethical, legal, economic, social and managerial issues in the sports industry. This includes issues of contract law, employment discrimination, antitrust law and constitutional law. Also covered will be the structures and authority of the organizations involved in amateur and professional athletics.

ATHL 514: Women and Sports - This course uses historical precedent as well as current events in sports to analyze the ways women have struggled, succeeded, and changed the world of sports.

ATHL 521: Clinical Sport Psychology - Clinical Sport Psychology considers the way psychological phenomena and theory affect physical and mental performance in athletics. Based on clinical research, students apply fundamental psychological theories to the sports industry.

ATHL 508: Athletic Risk Management & Wellness - This course looks at the various approaches to managing risks associated with conducting health, physical education, recreation and outdoor education programs. Its goal is ensuring safety is a primary concern in the foundation of any athletic institution.

Fairleigh Dickinson University - Master of Sport Managementand Graduate Certificates

This 36-credit master's degree is available 100% online as well as through evening classes at Florham campuses in New Jersey. It offers a range of courses and electives as well as concentrations in sports administration, coaching, and high school athletic directorship. Rutgers is one of the most well-known and established universities in the state, as well as the country. While the undergraduate sports management program is not available online, it is available for part-time students, still providing a more flexible schedule and allowing students to balance their life with their sports management education. The program also offers some of its sports management courses online, although the majority of the major is to be completed in person.
